Became a silent key on the 10th.

  From John K9KEU...

  • I wanted to let you know that Joe Medsker K8LKC from 3 Rivers, MI, died on I believe on the 10th. Joe was a good friend for 20 years and one of my cw buddies. Joe's roots were in am. He was an engineer at a Michigan station and was responsible for keeping the first shipped RCA ampl-iphase transmitter up and running. He loved my old Gates and helped me a lot. Though not a net regular Joe would check in from time to time on his Icom rig.
  A Little about me. . .

I started into ham radio as KN8LKC with a Novice ticket back in 1958. Most of my operation has been on CW over the past fifty some years and still enjoy it.

You can usually find me around 3552Khz or 1804Khz. I run 100 watts into either a 278 foot remote tuned end fed wire or a multiband vertical. On occasion you will find me on 40 meters, CW of course.

My passion is building early wireless and many reproductions have been built which are used for demonstrations.

The picture is one of many home brewed keys made over the years. It uses magnetic tensioning.
